I went and got my bike. It is from my last host family, and they are about Aunt Anna and Uncle Joe's age. Leif (my future host father) is pretty funny. They keep telling me that they built their new house just for me, cuz they want to make me feel special. So I laugh a lot. And my room is attached to the balcony, so its pretty tiight so they told me I am going to have to practice my Royal Wave so when I sit there I can wave like a queen. Bahaha. The view is amazing though. :)
This is the yard. Martha (host mother) keeps a garden. It looks really nice. A lot of flowers. The yard is quite big. I think they have 4 acres of land, but I'm not sure. :) They live by the lake tho. It's a short bike ride, or a medium walk down to the water, so that is nice.
The Livingroom. We sometimes eat in here. Depends. But at night (usually) on the weekdays we sit in there and watch random TV shows. Majority of the are American so I understand or have seen them before. I usually go to bed before they do though.
This is the bathroom. There is only one
bathroom. Well actually there is two in this part of the house that we live in, but the other one is down stairs. I'm not in the bathroom that much though. I usually just get ready in my room. So it's funny because Eivind (host father) is always like "Emily the bathroom is open!!" and I am already ready except I have to go brush my teeth or something. Haha. But it is the only bathroom that has a shower in it, so I do use it to shower. But that's mainly it.

Okay, so this is my room. I think that the door is pretty tiight. haha. It is the green door.
I like it, reminds me of something that people get their pictures take infront of. Haha. My room is kinda messy, so I am sorry, I suppose I could have made my bed before I took the pictures,
but I didn't, sorry. And the stuff in my closet, the top three shelves are mine. And then from the white and black dress to the right is mine, the rest is not. Its just random articles of clothing that were left in there, but thats okay. Haha. Yeah I used to think I didn't have much clothes, and now I really dont haha. Its okay though because it doesn't take me as long to figure out what I feel like wearing. Haha. And then I have my desk. But its just cluttered. Its not really organized. I suppose I should probably keep it that way though. Its not that bad.
Love yall honey bunches of oats.
Oooh that sounds REALLYY yummy.
anywayyys, love yall,
Emily

Hi Emily!
Thank you for the long blog and pictures of your host family's house. It helps to see where you are staying. We can picture it in our minds a little better. Their house looks big and pretty. The yard looks just beautiful, with all of the flowers and everything. Then, you said it has a lake within walking distance. I can't imagine living in a place like that. I bet it is just gorgeous!!!! That green door does look kind of like the door that was in Laura's senior pictures. It is a pretty door! Those sticky notes in the dining room-Are they names of things in Norwegian to help you learn the language? I like the cabinets in the kitchen. It looks like a great place to live. Oh, I noticed the fridge had magnets on it. Would you like for me to make some magnets for them? Just let me know.
That cake is pretty. It was nice of him to do that for you.
Yea!! You got your bike. Now maybe you can go on some adventures.
Grandma said she got to talk to you today and see you on web-cam. I am glad you were able to do that.
Jimmy's sister Carolyn has a step-son that lives in New York City. He and his wife are here in Amarillo visiting. We all went out to eat at The Plaza today. There were 12 of us. Then we came over here for a little while. We had a really good time, but I was stuffed!
Well, it is getting late, so I think I will go crash!
Love you lots,
Aunt Sheila
Great pictures!! So glad to see where you live--it's a beautiful home. Dad and I were admiring the flowers, and I said they look healthier than mine. He said, "Well, they don't live in a desert!" It's possible they also spend a little more time working at it, too!:-)
It's almost 10pm, and I am just getting a chance to look at your blog. I had a BUSY day. It started at midnight, when an alarm went off at work that I had to go see about. Got back home at 1:15am. Then about the time I got dressed and ready to go to the kitchen this morning, work called again. So off I went at 8:00, and got home at 9:30, just in time for meeting. We had about 30 at meeting, then lots of good food at our potluck. As soon as it was cleaned up, off to work I went again, and was there from 3pm till after 8. Now I'm home again, and HOPING that work loses my number for at least a few hours!! Tomorrow is a holiday, no work, no school, if I can just hide from my call phone!!
Austin went to Uncle Joe and Aunt Anna's tonight. He wanted to help Uncle Joe tomorrow.
I'm too tired to type my meeting notes tonight, but I will get that done tomorrow. Sorry you weren't able to hear too well today. Maybe we'll get it figured out eventually. I hope you are able to go to Oslo to meeting now and then. It's nice that Martha is willing to help you do that.
Love you!!
~Mom
