Day 28.

Saturday, hmmm got to sleep in today. That was nice, well sorta, I kinda woke up at 6 anyways because the sun came up, but you know how that goes.

I don't really have any plans for today, just sleep some more I suppose.
Oh I am going to one of the Rotarian's house tonight to eat supper. They both were on the Finland trip. I think they are probably Grandma and Grandpa's age or so, possibly older. But they are very nice. They both are very smily.

Well today is a weird day. I actually woke up, got up, looked in the mirror, and asked myself "what am I doing here?" and I couldn't come up with an answer. Man a year seems like a LIFETIME. But I suppose I can make it. I've already been here a month. Or almost a month.

I'm not learning Norwegian very easily. It really frustrates me. And I think the reason for me not learning it, is that I never really had the desire to learn Norwegian, actually I dont think that I even knew Norwegian was a language before I found out that I was going to come to Norway, but you know how that goes, or you don't. Hahaha.

My host brother, Robert, kinda reminds me of Laura. I figured that out the otherday. And I almost busted out laughing but I didn't cuz then my host family would really think I was crazyyy.

Today is another rainy day. It's not raining now though I think it was earlier, but I was sleeping. I've slept a lot today. But I'm still tired. haha. Actually I am back to the way I feel when I am at home and I am in school, kinda just like I'm floating around on a litte cloud all the time. Except this time I have no earthly idea what is going on around me. So I think about things that have happened, and sometimes laugh during class, and some of the people that sit around me are like "uhhh what are you laughing at...you dont understand the teacher do you?" bahahaha. jk. not really.

I really wish I had a bike. I would love to go outside and ride my bike today, but I suppose I can do that latahhhh. I think I'm getting my bike tonight. It will be my baby. Hahaha.

So how was the game last night? The Randall/Plainview game? Or is that who Randall played last night? I kinda miss marching season, even though I didn't know how to play. I did like marching though, that was extremely fun. Or maybe everyone that was in band made it fun. It's kinda sad, sometimes I miss Bushland, and then I think about it, and then I don't anymore. mwahahaha.

And still, how is everyone doing?

Good morning Emily,
How are you this morning? We are fine and I think everyone in this area are o.k.
This being Saturday, I have more to do than I can say grace over. Meeting and potluck is here tomorrow, which we love. Yesterday I had intended to get housework done for Sunday then we went to Borger to a funeral so now today I have to clean house and cook. :-)))))))))
That was funny when you said your host father thinks you ought to understand all he was saying. When we went to Mexico City years ago, it seemed like if we would talk louder they should understand english. We couldn't understand spanish, and they felt the same way, if they talked louder they thought we should understand spanish. Workers was with us where ever we went, so they translated all the conversations.
Nice you got a bike, and now you got some wheels.
Need to get busy, and we think of you everyday.
Love Bruce and Edna

You know, Emily, I really miss you. When you get back, we're going to take a long bike ride --well, maybe not too long, because I'm really out of shape. :-) It will be fun to hear you laugh again, and to have the kids around because you always have something going on. Until then, though, I guess there will be lots of peace and quiet here -- it's overrated, by the way!!

Love you,
Mom

I love to keep up with your blog. Last night Randall played us here in Plainview. After 2 very lousy years in football, the Bulldogs finally won, 9-0. sorry, but our boys needed a win. Both bands did well. I realized last night how many of the friends were in the Randall band. Bryan, Rebecca, Sam and Galen and Eric. Saw Rebecca, but didn't really get to see the others. Saw your dad and Austin at the game and Katrina and Hannah. and of course Norm and Sheila. Ronny and I both are band parents and where the band goes, we go. This being our senior year, we are making the most of it.
sounds like you are doing well, and with one month down, 11 more to go, it will go by pretty fast. (easy said from my end) huh?
Hang in there and you will get their language down soon.
Smile, and take care.

Hi Emily! This is the third time I have tried to post a comment today. Third time's a charm, right? Derek, Kathy, and the kids went to the Bushland/Perryton game last night. I think the score was Bushland 48, Perryton-21. Randall lost 9-0, which I think you already know. Cool that you are going to eat supper at the Rotarian's house. It's good that you are getting a bike, as well. Maybe you will have lots of adventures. I am glad your host mother is going to tutor ya'll in the Norwegian language. I am sure you will enjoy yourself a lot more when you are more able to understand what is going on.

I just finished the most amazing sandwich I have ever had. It was a grilled chicken sandwich from the Barfield kitchen. YUMMO!!!

It will be bedtime for you soon. Hope you had a great day!!

Love and miss you lots,

Aunt Sheila
